Repair and maintenance of refrigeration equipment for a restaurant.
Let’s start with the basics, but I assure you, the further you read, the more interesting it will be. So, the refrigeration equipment installed in the restaurant’s kitchen is, of course, away from the stove and other sources of heat. The room where the refrigerators are located should not be with high humidity, this is very important for its overall operation.
Correctly setting the refrigerator in level, you will ensure its silent operation. If you have a normal building level, this will be easy to do. But even if there is no level, then this can be done using a plate with a smooth edge: water is poured into it, the plate is placed at the bottom of the refrigerator compartment. Watching the water mirror, simultaneously twisting the regulators in the legs of the refrigerator, they achieve an even distance of the water mirror from the edges of the plate.
I think everyone knows that the refrigerator needs to be defrosted (even if it is equipped with the NoFrost system), washed with warm water and soapy water (or with a special cleaning agent) and be sure to ventilate. If you do not put hot dishes in the refrigerator, the fur coat on it will not grow so quickly. Although in industrial refrigerators, this problem in most cases does not occur.
A refrigerator that is filled with chilled and cold foods consumes the least amount of electricity. Chilled products serve as a kind of battery for the refrigerator. With such work, the refrigerator will consume much less electricity. It is also necessary to periodically clean the capacitor with a brush from dust (it is possible with a vacuum cleaner).
Some problems that arise during the operation of the refrigerator, you can fix yourself, without asking for help from the master.
Was it noticed that the refrigerator “defrosted” by itself and stopped chilling? Check the electrical wiring of the refrigerator: the light bulb that does not light up when the door is open indicates damage to the internal wiring. Find out what exactly is faulty: a cord, plug or socket. In practice, there have been cases when it was not the refrigerator at all, but the fact that the cable was crushed and torn when rearranging the kitchen furniture.
Is the refrigerator intermittent? In this case, you need to check the voltage in the network. At very low voltage, the relay starts to rattle, and the interval between turning the refrigerator engine on and off becomes short-lived. In order for the refrigerator to work normally, you need to connect it to the network through a step-up transformer. After making sure that the wiring is fully operational and does not have any malfunctions, and that the voltage in the network is functioning normally, turn on and turn off the thermostat several times in a row. If, when the thermostat is turned off, the contacts sparkle and close, while making a sound that sounds like a click, this means that the thermostat is faulty and needs repair. In this case, it is best to contact a specialized refrigerator repair service to replace it with a new one.
The evaporator of the refrigerator freezes very quickly, and does the refrigerator often turn off and on again? Here you need to check the tightness of the cabinet. There should not be any gap between the cabinet and the door and no gaps through which warm air from the kitchen can enter the inside of the refrigerator. If the door sags, then to restore and improve the tightness, you need to tighten all the screws that secure the hinges. Having thrust and laying the gaskets under the latch of the lock and hinges, loosening or tightening the screws securing the rubber, you need to adjust this gap so that a sheet of thick paper does not pass through the closed door.
Does the sealing rubber on the door dry out from time to time? In this case, it must be replaced. It is best to use a soft rubber tube that is suitable in diameter. It must be cut in two even parts in half and placed under the entire perimeter of the sealing rubber of the refrigerator door.
Has the refrigerator started knocking during operation? The reason for this may be the contact of the pipeline with the compressor casing, the cabinet body or with the unit condenser. In this case, you need to carefully bend the pipeline in the place where it is in contact and then the noise will disappear.
The cause of noise is compressor vibration. You need to do the following: take a tube, a bandage or a rubber band, twist the compressor in one turn and tighten both ends on the side walls of the refrigerator. As a result, the vibration will decrease. The compressor casing has a spring suspension, which can also create noise. To eliminate the noise, you need to adjust the suspension bolts, carefully loosening and wrapping them. The cause of the noise can also be the shelves of the refrigerator compartment themselves, which are loosely installed in their places.
